Quick Tip

Always clear away debris and dead grass before beginning any sort of fertilization or seeding. A light raking not only gives you a clean lawn to work with, it also loosens the soil to provide a better environment for grass seed. If you are overseeding for a thin lawn, you’ll also want to mow the grass down to about 2” in height and remove the clippings.
